Meet the Instructors
Mr. Raksa Mark
Mr. Mark is the head instructor of the New Hope Studio. He started his training in 1994 and became the Head Instructor of the New Hope Studio in 2012. He has an abundant history with the American Karate Studio.

Mr. Nguyen started with AKS in 2007, at age 8. He then became an instructor four years later, in 2011. Being an instructor is fulfilling for him as he loves watching students break out of their shells as they grow, progress, and overcome mental and physical barriers. He is happy to be a part of our students' growth journeys and support them along the way.
Mr. Brian Nguyen
5th Degree Black Belt
Ms. Mehring began training in 2009, at age 5, and became an instructor in 2018. She was a dedicated tournament competitor in the NCKA division for nearly a decade and enjoys sharing her tournament knowledge. Her favorite part of being an instructor is connecting with students and celebrating their progress and achievements both within the sport and in their everyday lives.
Ms. Kendall Mehring
4th Degree Black Belt
Mr. Covin started with AKS in 2006 at the St. Louis Park studio. He became an instructor in 2018 and joined us at our New Hope studio in 2024. He enjoys being an instructor because it allows him to pass on the knowledge he learned growing up, which has greatly shaped who he is today, and he wants to share that with others.
